They are used to provide support for future balloons, stents or other devices used to reopen to the narrowed artery. Dr Ehtisham graduated from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, and completed his cardiology training in London, Oxford, and France. He obtained his PhD in Oxford and co-authored the educational book Oxford Case Histories in Cardiology. His sub-speciality interest is in complex angioplasty and chronic total occlusions. Dr Ehtisham also pioneered a novel transradial access training program for nurses where he currently works at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
