Angioplasty - Stents & Scaffolds Course

Discover all about stents and how they are used safely during procedures.

What you'll learn in this course

This course will explore Stents & Scaffolds in much more detail. As a refresher, once the stenosis within an artery has been opened with a balloon, a mesh tube called a stent is inserted to keep the artery open. Primarily stents are made of metal and have a drug coating on its exterior surface to prevent any restenosis from occurring after implantation (drug eluting stents).

This course will look at the role and construction of different stents, their clinical performance, delivery, and much more.
